Back to Blogger. It seems that the world has just gotten so complicated: mobile, social, web x.0, blockchain, substack, GenAI. I want something simpler. "Write, publish, repeat." Neil Gaiman may have said something like that, back when it was okay to quote Gaiman, before the world got complicated.
I write a lot. I publish little. So, Mechanical Movements. It's just a place to dump what I'm writing and what I've written, before the tsunami of GenAI words buries everything.
Why "Mechanical Movements"? Well, 507 Mechanical Movements is the title of an old book by Henry T. Brown, first published in 1868. This odd little book features wee drawings or vignettes of mechanical components and contraptions. At the time, there was a palpable excitement regarding all things mechanical, all things patentable. My intention here is to capture a few unvarnished vignettes of what I see around me.
